Early morning start Just off St Vaast after 3 weeks in Normandy and Channel islands

Up the canal to Carentan after crossing 4 miles of sand 2 mtrs depth max, "scary", need to get to channel buoy 1 hr before H Water then start your approach very carefully!! once in the canal relax and enjoy the port, you can get the train to Paris or Bayeux, the trains are wonderful.

Back to Cherbourg then round to Guernsey for 9 days returning to Cherbourg for Bastille day, beaten up going through Cap de la Hague  but Great fireworks when we got in, a good fun night.

Guernsey was its usual manic self with boats frantic to get in over the sill even at 11.00Pm and were gone by the morning tide. The French coast offers some beautiful walks like the one above. We will be investing in 2 bikes for 2004.

This is the last short holiday we will have before retirement so should be able to put together better and more detailed information of our cruising areas.
