• We are in La Roche-Bernard and leave the boat there for the winter. If you are interested I have published our trips on this WEB site and I keep a log of "the good the bad" and the overall costs. (click on hover button)

•  I am not the first boat from our sailing club (Warsash Sailing Club) to leave the UK to set up base in France in 2004 there were 6 W.S.C. boats on the river who intend to stay in France for the foreseeable future.

• The Solent has become the exploitation zone for business and Governments alike, "rip off Britain" at its best, or worst, depends on your point of view, me, I voted with my feet / keel. However I do feel sorry for people on low incomes and pensioners who are being forced out of their sport by the so called custodians of our welfare.

• It appears that the Crown Estates and Hampshire County Council see the Solent and in particular the Hamble as no more than a revenue stream to be exploited as much as possible with little or no regard as of the ability to pay or the resulting strain and constant worry to make ends meet, less well off people are being victimized.
